FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE TO GET TATTOOED?

It is ideal to eat a good meal before your appointment. Please make a point to be well hydrated and avoid drinking alcohol  in the days leading up to your appointment. It also helps to moisturize your skin leading up to the tattoo. Feel free to bring in snacks and drinks of your choice. The studio always has water and snacks as well.

Dress appropriately! It is important that you are comfortable and your artist is able to access the area they are tattooing. Please reach out to your tattooer directly if you have any questions.

DO YOU SELL ALL THE AFTERCARE PRODUCTS I’LL NEED?

Our studio does not currently sell any aftercare products. However, you can expect that your artist will provide aftercare instructions to you in writing and that your tattoo will be bandaged for a minimum of 24hrs following the tattoo. You can also click here to view our full recommendations for tattoo aftercare to plan ahead for your session.

I WANT A TATTOO BUT I’M ON A LIMITED BUDGET. HOW DO YOU DETERMINE PRICING?

If you have a specific budget in mind for your tattoo, please let your artist know ahead of time. We always do our best to provide an estimate on cost/number of sessions before starting your tattoo. Our studio has a $100 minimum, and our hourly rates vary by artist.

DO I NEED A CONSULTATION APPOINTMENT?

Sometimes, yes. The best way to go about setting up a tattoo appointment is to reach out directly to the artist of your choice. Courtney asks that you complete a booking form, and Russ can be reached via email. If a consultation is required, they'll let you know based on what you're asking for. We are always happy to meet with you for a consultation to answer any questions you might have.

CAN YOU TATTOO OVER SCARRING?

Most likely, yes! It depends on the severity and maturity of the scar. This is determined on a case-by-case basis. In general, a scar should be at least one year old, and have healed down to your skin tone. An in-person consultation is required for scar cover ups.

DO YOU DO COVER UPS?

Yes, when possible. Both of our artists are comfortable with cover ups. There are limits to what can and cannot be covered, and by what. An in-person consultation is required for all cover-up work.

CAN I GET TATTOOED WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?

No. Getting tattooed while pregnant or breast-feeding has the possibility of complications to your own health and that of your baby, and is against Rhode Island State Law.

IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?

Deposits are NOT refundable. A deposit is taken to ensure that you are serious about getting tattooed and that your artist is not spending hours of their time drawing and preparing for your appointment. Your deposit comes off of the total cost of the tattoo at the last session of the piece. It is not an extra fee. Click here to learn more about our deposit policy.
